The new-generation Corolla sedan has received a radical design change. It features a sharp and futuristic design that is elevated by the new connected lights on the front. The inverted-L-shaped DRLs and the big lightbar, cumulatively, make it look like a sports car.

However, the interesting bit is the large windshield that stretches till half of the roof space. Meanwhile, the side profile is equipped with the 21-inch machine-cut aerodynamic alloys, flush door handles, and regular ORVMs, hinting that a production model is just around the corner.

The rear-end design is also intriguing as it features a unique ducktail shape and an embedded spoiler with the new three-piece connected taillights and the Corolla lettering on the boot lid. The rear reminds us of the Lexus LFA to some extent.

Moving on the inside, the concept model features a very unique and radical design with a minimalist dashboard and a three-panel display behind the three-spoke steering wheel.

The vertical column, mounted between the centre, has a car-shaped gearshift knob. Also, the front seats are not separated by a console, which indicates that an electric version is also planned.

As far as the powertrains are concerned, Toyota will reveal the details probably by next year. However, online rumours suggest that it will be offered in petrol, strong hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrain options.

Toyota is expected to launch the production version of the next-generation Corolla by the end of 2026 in Japan, while the global launch is expected in 2027.
