Toyota Century Coupe: Everything you need to know

Following the rumours, Toyota has finally unveiled the Century nameplate as a separate brand identity that will specialise in making high-end luxury cars to compete with the global leaders like Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The first model of the standalone Century brand is a coupe, which is a crossover between a luxury SUV and a sports car. Presented in a special 60-layer Ember paint shade, the concept model of the Coupe shows how the future cars of the Century will look.

The brand has also incorporated a new motif, which has been smoothly integrated into the design of the Coupe concept. The front fascia of the car has a prominent SUV face, along with the quad LED headlights and a streamlined grille with aero dams underneath it.

The concept model has been put on display at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025. The car also gets 22-inch, 10-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels and a two-door design with concealed door handles and piano black trim elements.

The rear design is equally interesting as it does not have a windshield. The coupe rear-end shape gets mixed with the boot lid seamlessly. Although it is a concept model for now, the production model will be significantly different from it.

The cabin design is also very unique as it does not have a full-width dashboard and a front passenger seat. The centre console embodiesa  red laser separator, which we assume is limited to the concept model. The idea behind this design is to free up space for the rear passengers.

The concept model does get a yoke-like steering wheel with three screens behind it. These are likely to feature the MID, infotainment, and HVAC controls. We saw something similar on the Toyota Corolla concept model, which is on display alongside it.

As of now, there are no details available regarding the engine and its specifications. We suspect that Century will use its 3.5-litre V6 strong hybrid engine to power the Coupe’s production version.

The launch timeline is also unknown, but whenever it will be launched, it will compete with the top-end Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga SUVs.
