- Limited-edition package gets black exterior garnishes and sporty additions
Toyota has given the Urban Cruiser Hyryder a dark makeover. The company has introduced the new Aero Black Edition, adding a set of blacked-out exterior elements to the SUV for buyers looking for something a little more distinctive.
Unlike a conventional new variant, this is essentially a Toyota Genuine Accessories limited-edition styling package. It is priced at Rs 31,999 and will be available only for a limited period, or until stocks last.
Black is the new Hyryder
The Aero Black Edition gets a number of cosmetic changes rather than mechanical upgrades. The package includes a black front grille upper garnish, front spoiler and headlamp garnish. At the back, Toyota has added a matching tailgate garnish and rear spoiler. There is also an exclusive Aero Black limited-edition badge, which is perhaps the easiest way to tell this Hyryder apart from the regular versions.
Toyota says the changes are designed to give the SUV a more youthful and sporty appearance without messing around with the basic Hyryder design.
The package is available across the Midnight Black G and V grades, with both the Neo Drive and Strong Hybrid powertrains. Customers can also add Toyota’s dealer-level All Black Package for an additional cost.
No changes under the skin
The Aero Black Edition is purely about appearance, so there are no mechanical changes. The Hyryder continues with its two existing powertrain choices. The strong-hybrid version uses a self-charging hybrid system and an e-drive transmission, with Toyota claiming 27.97 kmpl.
The Neo Drive version uses a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine and is available with manual and automatic transmissions. Buyers can also choose between 2WD and 4WD configurations.
The Hyryder’s existing equipment list includes features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.
The Aero Black Edition is for buyers who simply want their SUV to look a little less like everyone else’s.
