Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX recalled – Here’s why
As per the official details, 1,140 units of the Land Cruiser LC300 and Lexus LX models sold in India have been affected by a transmission-related issue. The recall has been initiated nationwide, and the affected car owners are being contacted.
The recall is related to the 10-speed automatic gearbox that uses a set of linear solenoids. As per the company, some of these solenoids can fail, which can further lead to over-revving of the engine in certain gears, leading to transmission failure in extreme conditions.
Moreover, the brand says that this issue can also lead to leakage in the transmission, which could lead to a fire if the transmission oil comes in contact with the hot exhaust.
Toyota has revealed that 969 units of the Land Cruiser LC300 manufactured from September 4, 2025, to September 30, 2025, and 117 units of the Lexus LX manufactured between March 6, 2025 and September 30, 2025, have been recalled.
The dealerships have been mandated to fix this issue by reprogramming the ECM, or the electronic control module controlling the engine and the gearbox.
