Ulraviolette X47 launched at INR 2.74 lakh, gets radar tech

Key highlights

  • Ultraviolette X47 becomes the world’s first production motorcycle to get radar as standard.
  • Priced at INR 2.74 lakh (ex-showroom), it mixes crossover styling with bleeding-edge safety.
  • Radar powers adaptive cruise, blind spot detection, and collision alerts.

Ultraviolette has launched the X47, and it’s not just another electric motorcycle, it’s a sci-fi script on two wheels. Priced at INR 2.74 lakh, this crossover-styled EV is officially the first production motorcycle in the world to feature integrated radar technology as standard.

We’re talking adaptive cruise control, collision warnings, blind spot detection, even lane-change alerts. On a motorcycle. No special edition, no optional add-on, every single X47 comes with it. Ultraviolette calls it Rider Assist Radar, and for once, the marketing line lives up to the hype.

Design and performance

The X47 takes the middle ground between a naked streetfighter and a baby ADV. Some highlights:

  • Twin LED projectors with radar sensors tucked neatly into the nose
  • Wide handlebars and tall stance for presence and comfort
  • 17-inch alloys with dual-purpose tyres for mixed terrain
  • Adjustable suspension and dual-channel ABS for control

Under the skin sits a motor good for 40 hp and 100 Nm. It does 0–60 km/h in under 3 seconds and promises 180 km of certified range. Charging options? Fast charger or good old wall socket, your pick.

Onboard, you get a 7-inch TFT dash that shows radar alerts, navigation, and ride analytics, with 5G connectivity, OTA updates, and smartphone pairing built in.

The radar story

The real party trick is the radar. It uses millimeter-wave sensors to scan up to 100 meters ahead and behind, warning you via haptics and on-screen alerts. Rain, fog, or low light—it’s designed to keep working.

Ultraviolette claims it tested the system over a million kilometres in real Indian traffic. Translation: it knows how to deal with autos cutting across, bikers squeezing past, and people carrying tiffin boxes while jaywalking.
