What to expect from the upcoming Kia Syros EV?
Two completely camouflaged test mules of the Syros EV were recently spotted together. The test car bears the same silhouette as the ICE version, but the visible highlights hint that the EV will have distinctive visual updates.
The test mules were seen with the new dual-tone aerodynamic alloy wheels, and the front bumper with a protruding design appears to be redesigned with a closed front grille, while the camouflage possibly hides the new LED lights.
Similarly, the rear profile was completely covered, save for the visible LED taillights aligned vertically on the lower bumper. This hints that the radical styling of the Syros will continue on the EV version as well.
The overall boxy profile remains as it is, which means that the passenger space will be supreme, something that Syros is known for. Moreover, an electric powertrain means the flat floor will offer additional legroom for the rear passengers.
On the inside, the Syros EV will continue offering the dual-tone layout with segment-best features like a trinity display, Boss Mode, rear seat recline with ventilation, dual-zone AC, and more. On the safety front, it will come loaded with the ADAS safety suite, possibly adding new features.
Online reports hint that the Syros EV will share the battery specs with the Hyundai Inster EV sold globally. If so, it will be offered with a 49 kWh battery pack, which could offer a claimed range of 370 km.
We suspect that the Syros EV will be launched in India later this year. The expected launch price of the Syros EV will be Rs 12-18 lakh, and it will compete with Mahindra XUV3XO EV and Tata Nexon EV.
