VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 score 5 stars at Bharat NCAP

Key highlights

• Both VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 secure full 5 star ratings from Bharat NCAP
• Strong scores in adult and child occupant protection across crash tests
• Seven airbags and advanced driver assistance tech come standard

VinFast just gave Indian car buyers one more solid reason to take its electric SUVs seriously. The VF 6 and VF 7 have both earned a full 5 star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. That puts them right up there with the safest cars you can buy in India today.

The score

The VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 44.41 out of 49 in child occupant protection. The VF 7 went a step further. It logged 28.54 out of 32 for adults and 45.25 out of 49 for kids. Those are strong, confidence inspiring results.

Both SUVs did especially well in frontal and side impact tests. Head, neck, and upper leg protection hit the maximum score for both driver and passenger. In side impact tests, both cars scored full points again for adults and children. In the pole side impact test, head injury values stayed far below the danger limit. In simple terms, these cars keep your head where it belongs. Attached to your shoulders.

VinFast has not built these SUVs as bare bones EVs. Both VF 6 and VF 7 come with seven airbags as standard. They also get smart driver assistance features on select variants. Think adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and even auto lane change assist. These systems do not replace a good driver. They back one up when traffic decides to misbehave.

Local production

The VF 6 and VF 7 roll out of VinFast’s Tamil Nadu plant. That local assembly adds weight to the brand’s long term India plans. VinFast is not just dipping a toe into the market. It is building an ecosystem. Manufacturing, retail outlets, charging support, and aftersales service are all part of the plan.

For buyers who still worry that electric cars are either fragile or experimental, this certification should calm a few nerves. These SUVs are not just about screens and range figures. They are about structure, restraint systems, and crash performance. The boring but vital stuff.
