Volkswagen Taigun facelift production starts, launch tomorrow
The 2026 Taigun facelift will be the first mid-life update of the brand’s mid-size SUV. As visible in the official photos, the front fascia of the car has undergone mild changes, which now makes it more subtle and elegant.
The front now gets a set of new projector LED headlights with sleek DRLs, a new sleek grille with illuminated connected LED light, and a new bumper with redesigned lower grille, chrome horizontal slats, and a silver skid plate underneath. Interestingly, the foglights have been eliminated from the Taigun facelift.
The side profile is more or less the same, save for the new dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels (black on the GT-Line trim). While the details of the rear are likely to be revealed tomorrow, the spy shots that have surfaced online hint at a new set of connected LED taillights and a new bumper with a more streamlined outlook.
On the inside, the Taigun facelift is likely to feature a bigger and smarter infotainment screen, a new digital instrument cluster, a redesigned centre console with wireless charging pad, electric front seats with ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, and massaging seats on the higher variants. Sadly, the Taigun facelift will miss out on the ADAS and 360-degree camera due to the non-compatibility of the current platform with these features.
Under the bonnet, it will continue offering the 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI engine options. However, the former will now feature a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which will replace the current 6-speed AT.
With that said, the official variant details, prices, and the new updates will be revealed tomorrow. We will be covering the Taigun facelift launch in detail, so stay tuned!
