What to expect from the Volkswagen Taigun facelift?

The upcoming Taigun facelift test mule was recently spied in Pune in a completely undisguised form. The red coloured test car was probably the GT-Line variant, as it had the piano black contrasting accents overall.

Speaking of the visible changes, the front of the car gets the new, sleek LED headlights, a new grille probably with illuminated accents, and a new front bumper with black highlights. The side profile appears to be largely unchanged, save for the new shape R17 black alloy wheels, which further solidify that it is a GT-spec model.

At the back, the test car appears to have a set of new LED taillights with a sharper design and a connected LED lightbar, which we suspect will get an illuminated VW logo similar to the Tayron R-Line. The overall dimensions of the updated model look unaltered.

Another major change is likely to take place on the inside, where it will feature a bigger digital infotainment console, a new centre console, a new digital instrument cluster, and new wireless features with added comfort equipment like massaging seats and ventilated seats.

Under the bonnet, it will largely remain unchanged, as it will continue to offer the 1.0 TSI and a 1.5 TSI engine options. However, similar to the new Skoda Kushaq, the 1.0 TSI engine could benefit from the new 8-speed torque converter AT gearbox.

As it is an LHD version, which is meant for the international market, we can safely assume that the car is nearing launch. The test mule looks production-ready as well, and we anticipate that it will be introduced by mid-2026 in India with a slightly hiked price.
