Volkswagen Tayron R-Line production commenced
The upcoming Tayron R-Line will serve as a premium product for the brand, extending the portfolio towards the pricier spectrum. However, similar to Skoda, a sibling brand that sells the Kodiaq in India as a CKD or completely knocked-down unit, the Tayron R-Line will also be sold in the same way.
The brand has begun the local assembly of the Tayron R-Line at its Chhatarpati Sambhajinagar-based production facility. While the price of the Tayron R-Line is set to be announced by the end of the first quarter of 2026, Volkswagen has commenced its pre-bookings.
The Tayron R-Line is essentially Volkswagen’s version of the Kodiaq, but it features a different design, different interiors, and has a sporty setup, unlike the Kodiaq that is tuned more towards luxury. The Tayron R-Line is expected to be launched aroun Rs 35-40 lakh in India.
Powering the Tayron R-Line will be the brand’s tried and tested 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 201 bhp and 320 Nm of power and torque. It is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and gets an AWD as standard.
On the feature-front, the Tayron R-Line gets LED exterior lighting, a full-size sunroof, dual-zone ambient lights, a digital instrument console, wireless connectivity, wireless charging, electric seat adjustment with ventilation, electric tailgate, and more.
