Yamaha celebrates 70 years with special pricing on the iconic R15 series

Key highlights

  • Yamaha rolls out INR 5,000 anniversary savings across the R15 range starting January 5, 2026
  • Prices now begin at INR 1,50,700 ex showroom, Delhi
  • Over one million R15 units produced in India, marking a major milestone

Yamaha is in a celebratory mood, and Indian riders are invited to the party. To mark 70 years of Yamaha Motor, India Yamaha Motor has announced special anniversary pricing on its flagship R15 series. The offer brings a flat INR 5,000 price benefit across the range, effective from January 5, 2026.

With this move, the Yamaha R15 now starts at INR 1,50,700 ex showroom, Delhi. For a motorcycle that has defined the entry level performance segment for well over a decade, that number matters.

The R15 legacy

The R15 is not just another sporty looking bike. It changed how young riders in India viewed performance motorcycles. It introduced race inspired design, serious chassis engineering, and real tech long before those became buzzwords. Yamaha knows this, and the anniversary pricing feels like a nod to the loyal fanbase that grew up dreaming of this motorcycle.

Yamaha has produced over one million units of the R15 in India so far. That figure alone tells you how deeply this bike is woven into Indian motorcycling culture. From college parking lots to track days, the R15 has been everywhere.

Powertrain and Features

At its heart sits the familiar 155cc liquid cooled, fuel injected engine. It uses Yamaha’s DiASil cylinder technology and remains one of the most refined motors in the segment. The Deltabox frame continues to be a key reason why the R15 handles the way it does.

Feature wise, the R15 still punches above its weight. You get traction control, an assist and slipper clutch, and a quick shifter on select variants. Upside down front forks and a linked type monocross rear suspension add to its track focused character.

The updated pricing applies across all variants. The R15 S now costs INR 1,50,700. The R15 V4 is priced at INR 1,66,200. The range topping R15 M comes in at INR 1,81,100. All prices are ex showroom, Delhi.
