While the R3 remains a moderate seller for Yamaha in India, it is a popular model in the international markets, including the US and Europe. The brand continuously updates the R3 overseas, and its latest revision for MY26 has landed with a very special 70th Anniversary Edition paint theme.

Unveiled internationally, the R3 70th Anniversary receives a beautiful red and white colour livery with 3D graphics on the side panels, golden USD forks, and black contrast alloy wheels and mechanical parts. This paint theme used to be a popular signature for Yamaha bikes like the RD500 or the YSR50 in the 1970s.

The brand has paid homage to its 1970s model through this special paint option. However, the rest of the motorcycle is similar to the standard R3. For MY26, it gets the same 321cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 40.4 bhp and 29.4 Nm of power and torque, respectively. It is paired to a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.

The feature packaging includes a colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, ride modes, traction control, dual-channel ABS, etc.

We suspect that the 70th Anniversary Edition R3 will not launch in India. The standard R3 is priced at Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom) after the new GST rates.
