The all-new Ducati Monster naked sportsbike has landed in the Indian market. The newly launched Monster now features the biggest change, i.e. a new V2 engine sourced from models like the Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2.
2026 Ducati Monster: Everything to know before buying it
The all-new Monster is available from a starting price of Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Ducati Red colour, while the White and Red colour choices will cost Rs 14.23 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, there is a Monster+ version that further adds a headlight cowl and a passenger seat cowl, which is priced at Rs 14.34-14.45 lakh, depending on the colour opted for. The new model now packs a new design with thoughtful technical changes.
To begin with, it now features a redesigned fuel tank that is more similar to the original first-gen Monster’s design. Moreover, to make the bike more accessible, the rider seat has been redesigned and lowered by 5 mm.
The biggest change is the new 890cc V2 liquid-cooled engine sourced from the Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2. This engine is 5.9 kg lighter than the outgoing 937cc engine. Moreover, it makes identical power, i.e. 110 bhp and 91.1 Nm.
Ducati claims that 80 percent of the torque is available between 4,000 and 10,000 RPM. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, a slipper clutch, and a quickshifter. Ducati has also redesigned the chassis with a new monocoque design where the engine acts as a stress member. Additionally, it features a new double-sided swingarm design that has been taken from the Panigale V4, resulting in a 4 kg lighter motorcycle compared to the outgoing version.
The rider seat has been redesigned and narrowed to provide more access, and the seat is now positioned at 815 mm, which makes it 5 mm lower than the outgoing version, thus making it more accessible for new riders.
Other interesting changes include a reworked body that features new panels redirecting the hot air from the engine away from the rider. Additionally, there is a new six-axis IMU that adds features like the lean-sensitive ABS, cruise control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and more. There is also a new 5-inch TFT console with new UI and Bluetooth connectivity, which is operated by a new joystick.
With that said, the new Monster now features the new 890cc engine that requires valve clearance at 45,000 km. This will be a boon for owners in the long-term ownership, as it will reduce the overall maintenance substantially.
