- 2026 Hyundai Bayon spotted at a dealership
- Powered by the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
- India launch on October 26
The upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV has started reaching dealerships. Hyundai will announce its details and price on October 26, but before that, we have fresh details with us.
The Bayon was recently spotted once again at a dealership yard. The new spy shots reveal that the Bayon will get all the bells and whistles like the Creta.
On the exterior, it boasts a curvy design with a low-slung profile. The sharp elements like the sleek LED daytime running lights, dual projector LED headlights, sleek LED taillights, dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, and a roof-mounted spoiler give it a sporty look.
The interior looks spacious and feature-rich in the spy shots. For example, the dashboard is all-new and inspired by the new-gen i20 that was recently launched in Brazil.
The dashboard packs a curved connected screen with a new steering wheel. This specific car has an Ivory White and Grey interior theme. Meanwhile, the door pads feature new circular door handles and new armrests.
The list of features is also extensive. We can spot the wireless charger, new LED ambient lights, electronic parking brake, front seat ventilation buttons on the central console, four disc brakes, a large dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and Level 2 ADAS.
Under the bonnet, the Bayon is likely to offer a single engine option in the initial phase. This unit will be the Creta-sourced 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, offering 115 PS and 143.8 Nm. This specific model was seen with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while we have already seen the IVT automatic gearbox in previous leaks.
Online rumours hint that a CNG powertrain is also expected to arrive in the future that will not only power the Bayon, but also be offered on the next-generation Creta and the new Venue.
Hyundai will slot the Bayon between the Venue and the Creta. As the next-gen Creta will grow bigger in size and become more expensive next year, the Bayon will feel perfect for buyers looking for a mid-size urban SUV with a reliable engine.
