Tasteful exterior updates

The new Slavia facelift could initially look similar to the outgoing version, but the modifications are tasteful and require a closer look. For example, the fascia now gets the new segmented daytime running LED lights with projector headlamps. The grille is also new, with a sleek dummy carbon fibre plate, and the LED foglight housing has also been updated along the new bumper.

The side profile is more or less the same, save for the new dual-tone alloy wheels and cameras on the mirrors for the newly added 360-degree camera. The rear profile has even fewer updates, which mainly include the new taillights with sequential turn indicators and a new reflector design, illuminated Skoda lettering, and a revised bumper.

Skoda has also added two new exterior colour options: Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige.

Interior gets more comfortable

Similar to what we saw on the Kushaq facelift, Skoda has paid focus to the interior of the Slavia facelift. The sedan now features a bigger 10.25-inch instrument console with new graphics. This one is carried over from the bigger models like the Kodiaq.

Meanwhile, the infotainment screen now features a redesigned UI with smoother and faster operation. Moreover, Skoda has updated the new Slavia with a bigger AC compressor that is claimed to provide improved cooling.

Moreover, the rear seats now pack the massaging function like the Kushaq, but it makes more sense on the Slavia, being a sedan. There are still a few misses, which include the lack of a panoramic sunroof and ADAS safety suite, both unavailable due to the current platform’s non-compatibility.

New 8-speed automatic gearbox

Mechanically, the Slavia facelift is unaltered. The only upgrade is seen on the 1.0 TSI automatic version, which now uses a new AISIN-sourced 8-speed torque converter gearbox. This unit replaces the 6-speed torque converter, and it is believed to offer a better torque spread and high fuel economy.

Monte Carlo also available

The new Slavia also comes with a Monte Carlo variant. This one features a gloss black grille with twin red stripes, gloss black alloys, red brake calipers, and Monte Carlo badging. On the inside, it gets a black cabin with red ambient lighting and red stitching on the seats and steering wheel.

With that said, the new Slavia could be priced as high as Rs 85,000 more than the outgoing model. Price announcement and deliveries are expected soon.
