2027 Triumph Street Triple 798 revealed with bigger engine and all-new chassis

Key highlights

  • New 798 cc inline-triple engine replaces the current 765cc motor
  • Completely redesigned chassis promises greater agility
  • Full global unveil scheduled for November 17, 2026

Triumph has revealed the next-generation Street Triple 798 ahead of its full global debut next month. While the British manufacturer is yet to disclose complete specifications, the early reveal confirms major changes to both the engine and chassis.

Bigger Moto2-derived engine

The biggest mechanical change is the new 798 cc inline-three-cylinder engine. It is derived from the Moto2 powerplant that Triumph supplies for the championship and gets a redesigned cylinder head along with a new low-inertia valve train.

The higher-capacity motor also gets a bump in compression ratio and is expected to deliver stronger torque across the rev range. Triumph says the new engine will also be lighter than the outgoing unit, although exact power and torque figures have not yet been revealed.

All-new chassis for sharper handling

The engine isn’t the only major change. Triumph says the new Street Triple gets a completely redesigned chassis, with the aim of making the motorcycle more agile.

The main frame is visibly different from the current motorcycle, while the swingarm is substantially chunkier. The rear monoshock has also been repositioned, with the associated hardware appearing to be different.

The wheels, Brembo brakes and Showa front forks appear to have been carried over from the current model, while the underslung exhaust is a new design.

A major styling departure

The familiar twin headlamp arrangement has also been dropped. The new Street Triple gets a single LED projector positioned between sharply styled perimeter DRLs.

The overall design remains unmistakably Street Triple, but the revised lighting, sharper bodywork and new exhaust layout give the motorcycle a considerably more aggressive appearance.

Full reveal in November

Triumph will officially unveil the new Street Triple 798 on November 17, 2026. More details, including its final power output, weight, electronics and variant line-up, are expected to be announced then.
