6 new Hyundai cars to debut in 2026
Hyundai India’s 2026 innings will comprise multiple facelifts and new car launches. These models will be as follows:
1. New compact SUV
Hyundai’s target in India is to explore the affordable SUV segment as much as possible. Therefore, the brand has been developing a new B-segment SUV, which will be shorter than the 4 metre mark.
This unnamed SUV will be positioned between the Venue and the Exter. Spy shots of a test mule surfaced online earlier this year, giving us a glimpse of its tallboy design. Hyundai is also working on a similar-sized electric SUV, which could be the EV version of the same.
The name of this SUV is yet to be decided, and it might debut by late 2026.
2. Verna facelift
Another bet that the brand is still adamant to play is on the C-segment sedans. Hyundai has kept the Verna nameplate alive in India, and despite its low sales, the brand will launch its refreshed version soon.
The Verna facelift will feature a slight exterior, but major interior upgrades. These will include a new dashboard with a connected screen display, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and more advanced features.
The Verna facelift will debut in early 2026 with a minor price revision and no mechanical changes.
3. i20 facelift
The i20 hatchback is also a slow mover for the brand. Despite its spacious cabin and feature-rich packaging, the i20 is consistently facing slow sales. Hence, Hyundai is working on a new facelift model that is likely to debut in the second half of 2026.
The updated i20 will feature a new design, new alloys, and a revamped cabin with modern tech and features. Mechanically, it will remain unaltered, and its pricing will also take a hike.
4. Exter facelift
Another falling star for Hyundai India is the Exter micro-SUV which has been taking a beating fromthe Tata Punch consistently. The radical design of Exter has eventually failed to collect buyers, which its facelift model will change for sure.
Despite the refined engine options and value-for-money packaging, Exter’s design is polarising and keeps the potential customers away. The facelift model is likely to debut by the festive season in 2026, and it will offer a revamped styling, new cabin, and more features.
The Exter facelift will be priced higher than the current car.
5. New Tucson
Hyundai’s mid-size crossover SUV, Tucson, was discontinued this year. However, the brand is not giving up on it, as it plans to launch the updated 2026 Tucson in India next year.
The new model is already on sale in select global markets. It features a modern design with a heavily revised cabin design. The new Tucson focuses on more luxury and comfort than ever before.
The new Tucson is likely to be launched by the end of 2026, and it will be priced against the Skoda Kodiaq.
6. Bayon crossover
The Korean carmaker still does not have a rival for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx crossover. The Fronx has been fetching good sales volume for the Japanese brand, and Hyundai is planning to attack this segment with a new car that is likely to be based on the Bayon crossover sold overseas.
We suspect that the Bayon-based crossover will have a rugged design with lifted suspension, and it will come with modern features like ADAS. However, it might feature the same engine specs as the i20, since the Fronx is also based on the Baleno hatchback.
The confirmation of this crossover is pending from the brand, but online rumours suggest that it will be revealed in 2026 in India.
