Tata Nexon.ev 45 with ADAS launched at INR 17.29 lakh

Key highlights

  • Tata Motors launches Nexon.ev Empowered+ A 45 variant with Level 2 ADAS at INR17.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
  • ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and lane keep assist.
  • Retains 45kWh battery, 489km certified range, and 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

Tata Motors has officially launched the Nexon.ev Empowered+ A 45 variant, priced at INR 17.29 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the debut of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in the Nexon.ev lineup, making it the first sub-INR18 lakh EV in India to offer semi-autonomous safety tech. The move positions Tata squarely against rivals like the MG Windsor EV Pro, which also offers ADAS but at a higher price point.

The new variant builds on the existing Empowered Plus 45 trim and adds a suite of driver aids aimed at reducing fatigue and improving highway safety.

What’s in the ADAS package?

The Nexon.ev Empowered+ A 45 gets a full Level 2 ADAS suite, including:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keep assist and lane departure warning
  • Forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking
  • Traffic sign recognition
  • High beam assist

These features work together to offer semi-autonomous driving support, especially useful on long highway runs or unpredictable city traffic. The system uses radar and camera inputs to detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Powertrain and performance

Mechanically, the new variant remains unchanged:

  • Battery: 45kWh lithium-ion
  • Motor: 142hp, 215Nm
  • Range: 489km (certified), 350–375km real-world
  • 0–100 km/h: 8.9 seconds
  • Charging: 20–80% in 40 minutes via 60kW DC fast charger

The Nexon.ev continues to offer three charging options—3.3kW AC, 7.2kW AC, and 60kW DC—along with regenerative braking and vehicle-to-load capability.

Features and tech

In addition to ADAS, the Empowered+ A 45 variant includes:

  • 31.24cm Harman touchscreen infotainment system
  • 26.03cm digital instrument cluster
  • 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring
  • Voice-enabled panoramic sunroof
  • Leatherette ventilated seats
  • Arcade.ev app suite
  • Vehicle-to-vehicle charging
  • Rear window sunshade and ambient lighting

The Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition trims also get the ADAS upgrade, with the Dark commanding a INR 20,000 premium at ₹17.49 lakh.

Safety and warranty

The Nexon.ev holds a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and continues to offer:

  • Six airbags
  • ESP with traction control
  • ISOFIX child seat mounts
  • Lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for first owners

Tata’s focus on safety and long-term ownership costs remains a strong selling point in the EV space.
