Nissan expands CNG retrofitment to Magnite EZ-Shift (AMT)

Key Highlights

  • Nissan Magnite EZ-Shift (AMT) now gets government-approved CNG retrofitment
  • New integrated fuel lid design simplifies refuelling and improves ergonomics
  • Retrofit kit priced at INR 71,999 with 3-year or 1 lakh km warranty

Nissan Motor India has expanded its CNG retrofitment program to include the New Magnite BR10 EZ-Shift (AMT) variant. This move follows strong demand for the manual version launched earlier this year and reflects Nissan’s push to make cleaner mobility more accessible without compromising on convenience.

The retrofitment is government-certified, developed by Motozen Fuel Systems, and installed at authorised Nissan centres across 13 states. It’s a factory-approved solution, meaning you get peace of mind along with fuel savings.

What’s new this time

The big upgrade is the integrated fuel lid design. Unlike the earlier setup where the CNG filling valve sat awkwardly in the engine bay, the new design places it right behind the standard fuel lid. That means quicker refuelling, better ergonomics, and no more popping the hood at every gas station.

The kit is priced at INR 71,999, and that includes the benefit of the recent GST rate cut from 28% to 18%. Nissan hasn’t bumped the price despite the upgrade, which is a win for buyers.

EZ-Shift meets CNG

The EZ-Shift AMT variant of the Magnite is known for its city-friendly driving experience. Pairing it with CNG makes it even more appealing for urban commuters who want low running costs without the hassle of a clutch. The retrofit is available only for the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which keeps things simple and reliable.

And yes, the warranty still stands at 3 years or 1 lakh km, whichever comes first.

Safety and style still intact

The Magnite continues to offer 6 airbags as standard, and it holds a 5-star GNCAP rating for adult occupant protection. So you’re not trading safety for savings. Nissan also recently launched the KURO Special Edition, adding a bold black exterior and refined interiors to the mix. So whether you want style, safety, or savings, Magnite seems to have it all.

Our Thoughts

This is a smart and timely move from Nissan. CNG with an automatic transmission is a rare breed of cars and this could help Nissan rake in some sales. The integrated fuel lid is a small but meaningful upgrade as well.
