Tata Sierra 7-seater variant might launch in the future
While the Sierra SUV made its smashing debut recently in India, the brand is not stopping here with the nameplate. In fact, as per a latest media report, Tata is evaluating the possibilities to stretch the new Sierra to make it a three-row SUV, and slot it somewhere below the Safari.
Mind you, this is possible as the Sierra is based on an all-new ARGOS platform, which has been constructed to support various types of powertrains, including ICE. CNG, Hybrid, EVs, and more. Therefore, tailoring this chassis would be easy enough for Tata as the brand had already kept in mind that this platform would be used extensively in the future.
Since the Sierra is the biggest car in its segment, where rivals like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Victoris, and Honda Elevate offer lesser space and fewer features, the Sierra’s 7-seater version would be an additional benefit for the brand’s new portfolio expansion.
Not just that, but the brand has also confirmed that it is developing an AWD version of the Sierra and it is expected to be launched by 2027. The AWD drivetrain will be offered on the turbo petrol and the diesel engine options likely.
Meanwhile, the Sierra is yet to go on sale in India as its official bookings are set to commence from December 16, 2025. The introductory price of the Sierra is Rs 11.49 lakh, and the detailed price list for all variants is expected to be revealed in the coming days.
