The all-new MINI Convertible launched in India at INR 58.50 lakh

Key highlights

  • MINI launches the new Convertible in India at INR 58.5 lakh.
  • Gets a new design, a fully digital interior and a soft top that opens in 18 seconds.
  • Powered by a 204 hp engine that does 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

MINI has brought the new Convertible to India, and it lands with the same cheerful energy the brand is known for. The car arrives as a CBU, is available for booking across all dealerships, and deliveries start right away.

Design

The design sticks to the classic MINI face with round LED headlights and a cleaner front grille. The headlights now offer three light signatures and throw in a welcome and goodbye animation for extra drama. The profile stays compact and sporty with short overhangs, while the rear packs new vertical LED lights and a wide stance.

MINI offers the Convertible in four loud personality-driven shades: British Racing Green, Chili Red, Sunny Side Yellow and Ocean Wave Green. You also get 18-inch Slide Spoke or Flash Spoke alloys, which look the part even when the car is standing still.

The soft top is the star of the show. It opens fully in 18 seconds, works at speeds up to 30 km/h, and can even stay half-open as a sunroof. Boot space varies from 160 litres with the top folded to 215 litres with the roof shut. Practicality isn’t the reason people buy a MINI Convertible, but it’s nice to know it can carry more than just vibes.

Interior

Step inside and you’ll see MINI’s new digital-heavy cabin. The highlight is the round OLED display that works as both the instrument cluster and the central control screen. It runs MINI Operating System 9 with a smartphone-like layout, voice assistant and a bunch of connected features. Experience Modes add colour, sound and graphics to match your mood. The toggle switches remain, which feels reassuringly old-school.

The cabin gets seats in Vescin, a recycled, leather-free material. There’s wireless charging, a Harman Kardon sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a long list of comfort and safety features. MINI has thrown in everything from cruise control to a head-up display and a digital key.

Powertrain

Power comes from a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine making 204 hp and 300 Nm. MINI claims 0–100 kmph in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 240 kmph. A 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox sends power to the front wheels. The brand says the new car improves efficiency and keeps the familiar tyre-squealing go-kart feel alive.

MINI offers a standard two-year unlimited kilometre warranty with extensions available up to ten years. Service packs can go up to 1 lakh km. Financing through MINI Smart Finance starts at INR 58,500 per month with assured buyback.
