Ather EL electric scooter – What is it?

Earlier this year, Ather revealed its new EL platform with the EL 01 concept scooter displayed at the event. This new platform, as the company explained, has been designed to support a wide array of scooters that will be launched in the future.

One such upcoming scooter has recently been homologated in production guise. While we do not know its exact name, it is an impeccable copy of the EL 01 concept, which hints that it is the next big launch of the company.

Speaking of the homologated design, the scooter looks similar to the EL 01 concept, save for the mirrors. Other interesting details include the C-shaped LED light on the front apron, 14(F)-/12(R)-inch tyre setup, a swingarm-mounted electric motor, a flat footboard, a single seat, and a rather conventional design.

Ather had already revealed that the EL 01 concept-based production scooters will get battery sizes from 2 kWh to 5 kWh. Additionally, the EL 01 concept had a big 7-inch TFT console, which we suspect will be carried over on this upcoming e-scooter.

As far as the launch timeline is concerned, Ather is likely to introduce the first EL platform-based scooter by the end of 2026 – possibly around the festive season.
