Jeep Meridian gets sliding second-row seats

The latest update on the Meridian SUV comes in the form of sliding second-row seats. The sliding second-row seats are available on the Limited (O) and Overland variants only. The addition of this feature will offer more flexibility and comfort for the chauffeur-driven passengers. This is something that the segment leader, Toyota Fortuner, misses out.

However, the Jeep Meridian is soon going to receive a new competitor as MG is set to launch the Majestor SUV in India next month. The Majestor will be based on the Gloster, but it will focus on luxury and comfort for passengers, which will put it directly against the Meridian, which has also been designed for luxury and comfort.

Apart from the new sliding second-row seats, the Meridian remains unaltered. It is powered by the tried and tested 2.0-litre turbo diesel that is paired to a 4WD (optional) and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This powertrain produces 186 bhp and 350 Nm. The starting price of the Meridian is Rs 23.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
