What makes the Skoda Kylaq popular?
The Kylaq compact SUV has achieved its first big production milestone, as the brand has announced that over 50,000 units of the car have been manufactured since its launch in November 2024. The Skoda Kylaq happens to be the most affordable car of Skoda in India, and it is also exported to international markets from India.
Witnessing the high demand, Skoda has decided to increase the production capacity of its Chakan, Pune-based production facility to 30%. The Kylaq contributes nearly 50% sales, and it has increased the group’s year-on-year growth by 36% in 2025. Additionally, Kylaq’s prices were recently revised in January 2026, which has made certain variants costly by up to Rs 33,000.
The current Kylaq is priced from Rs 7.59 lakh to Rs 12.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Skoda’s top official has recently revealed that the brand is considering a CNG engine option for the Kylaq, which could either come as a factory fitment or a dealership-level fitment in the future. If the demand is registered, Skoda is also ready to install the CNG engine on the Kushaq and Slavia models.
