BMW F 450 RR sportsbike spied for the first time, launch soon?

Key highlights

  • BMW F 450 RR spied testing with heavy camouflage
  • It is likely to get a similar styling to the S1000RR
  • It will be powered by the 420cc parallel-twin 48bhp engine

Last year, when BMW showcased the 450 ADV, it took everyone by surprise. However, the brand is not stopping just yet, as it has begun the road testing phase of a fully-faired sportsbike based on the 450 platform. Read what we know so far about it below.

What do we know so far about the BMW F 450 RR?

The latest spy shots of the first-ever test mule of the F 450 RR sportsbike have revealed interesting details. While the spy shots are limited to the rear angle, and the bike is also camouflaged heavily, we can see that the riding posture is committed.

Additionally, it has the BMW Motorrad brake callipers at the front, which further solidify the fact that this is the BMW version, and not TVS. The rear twin LED taillights are also familiar-looking to the S1000RR. Moreover, the overall design silhouette resembles BMW’s flagship motorcycle.

Although it is covered, we can see that it has twin integrated winglets on the fairing. These will not only improve the motorcycle’s design, but they will also enhance its high-speed stability and performance. The test motorcycle also has the rotary knob selector button on the switchgear, which is a typical BMW.

Powering the F 450 RR will be the same engine as the 450 ADV, which is a 420cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, offering 48 bhp and 43 Nm of power and torque. It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and it is likely to get a slipper-clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

As of now, the official reveal date of this upcoming sportsbike is unknown. We suspect that BMW will debut it globally at the EICMA 2026 in November. It is expected to go on sale internationally next year. We are hopeful that BMW will bring it to India as well, however, the pricing will be north of Rs 5 lakh.
