What to expect from the new MG Majestor?

The latest teaser of the upcoming Majestor SUV shows the black colour model being driven on the terrain of Nagaland. The Majestor will become the flagship model of JSW MG India upon launch, which is scheduled to take place on February 12.

Speaking of the details, the Majestor SUV will come equipped with three terrain or driving modes. These modes have been teased in the trailer video as well, which include the Snow, Sand, and Rock modes. While not many details have been revealed regarding the 4X4 capabilities of the SUV, we believe that it will offer a slightly better performance than the Gloster, the donor car on which it is based.

MG will position it above the Gloster, which is also likely to be sold alongside. Moreover, it will use the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine as the Gloster, developing 213 bhp and 478 Nm. It will come paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a 4WD system with electronically-locking differentials.

On the front, it will feature a new front fascia with vertical LED DRLs and a big, wide grille. Meanwhile, its side profile is shown with machine-cut alloys and a snorkel in the trailer video. The rear design will feature a connected LED taillight setup and Majestor lettering on the boot.

However, the big upgrade that it will offer is going to be its interior experience. It will come equipped with a new dashboard, offering a digital cockpit, an airplane cockpit-styled centre console with switches, drive mode selector, and other buttons finished with a glass-like highlight, triple-tone leather upholstery, electric seats with memory, ventilation, heating, and more functions, a full-size glass roof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and more.

The Majestor will also come loaded with a Level 2 ADAS, offering automatic emergency braking, front collision detection, blind spot monitoring and alert, lane keep assist, a 360-degree camera, and more.

It will be launched in a price bracket of Rs 45-50 lakh, and its main rivals will include the Toyota Fortuner Legender and the Skoda Kodiaq.
