Ferrari Luce EV interiors revealed
Ferrari’s latest reveal comes straight from the design treasure of Jony Ive, the man responsible for Apple’s product designs previously. While the Luce EV is scheduled to debut in May 2026, the Italian carmaker has unveiled the interior design details of its first-ever EV.
While the complete interior details remain hidden as of now, it is the lovely retro-looking instrument console and the steering wheel that have been revealed to give the world a hint that this EV won’t forget the roots of Ferrari’s epic design evolution. The bare aluminium console has a digital 12.5-inch instrument console with a floating design that has been carved out from a high-grade machined process.
Furthermore, it features twin digital dials made in collaboration with Samsung. These OLED screens feature the classic-looking 1980s-inspired dials, seen on the old-gen Ferrari F1 race cars. Additionally, Ferrari designers have incorporated a physical needle to further accentuate the feeling of a retro-inspired modern EV.
Meanwhile, the three-spoke steering wheel will remind you of Nikki Lauda’s race car, as it features the bare aluminium finish and gets the tactile physical buttons for functions including the driving modes and other driving-related controls. The steering wheel also embeds two big paddle shifters, also made from machined processing with high-grade metal.
Additionally, the aluminium-finished dashboard gets a 10-inch, sleek and simple infotainment console with graphics resembling the old-style retro font, while featuring aluminium toggle switches for air-con controls. Ferrari has kept the physical buttons alive on the Luce EV, which is the need of the hour, as more and more brands are shifting to the physical buttons once again.
With all this retro charm, the cabin design did not forget to carry the modern tech. As seen in the official photos, the infotainment screen is displaying various data related to the performance, including the G-force meter. The digital infotainment screen also has an analogue clock on the extreme upper right, which is a tribute to the 1980s design.
Other revealed details include the centre console, which is again unique, simple, and looks timeless. The Luce EV’s interiors showcase that designing a timeless car is still possible even with the new tech and features. The centre console gets an old-school switch-type gearshift button, which is accentuated by a glass-coated Ferrari key, power window buttons, and twin cup holders.
The steering wheel buttons confirm that it will get three driving modes: Range, Tour, and Performance, while featuring four traction modes: Ice, Wet, Dry, and Sport. It also gets a headliner-mounted control panel with aircraft-style toggle buttons for lights, and a pull-type physical control for the Launch Control feature, along with an SOS button.
With all these interesting details of the interior design, we are now more excited to see how the first-ever electric Ferrari car will look like. The official unveil is still months away, and we expect that Ferrari will reveal more details soon.
