Yamaha XSR 155 gets new metallic black shade

Key highlights

  • Launched at INR 1,58,990 ex showroom Delhi
  • New Metallic Black shade with golden USD forks
  • 155cc VVA engine with dual channel ABS and traction control

India Yamaha Motor has introduced a new Metallic Black shade for the Yamaha XSR 155. The bike is priced at INR 1,58,990 ex showroom Delhi. With this update, Yamaha gives its modern retro roadster a darker and more aggressive personality.

Black done right

The Metallic Black finish adds depth to the muscular fuel tank and minimalist body panels. The golden USD front forks contrast beautifully against the dark paint. The combination looks premium without trying too hard.

The XSR 155 follows Yamaha’s modern retro sport philosophy. It blends classic styling cues with current hardware. The round headlamp, sculpted tank and flat seat stay true to the neo retro theme. The new colour makes the bike look more serious and a bit more rebellious.

Performance remains unchanged

Under the skin, nothing changes. The XSR 155 continues with its 155cc liquid cooled, 4 valve engine with Variable Valve Actuation. It produces 18.1 hp and 14.2 Nm. The VVA system ensures strong pull across the rev range. City riding feels smooth. Highway runs feel energetic for a 155. The engine pairs with a 6 speed gearbox. It gets an assist and slipper clutch.

The bike uses Yamaha’s proven Deltabox frame. It gets an aluminium swingarm, USD front forks and a linked type monocross rear suspension. The 17 inch wheels give it a confident stance. Dual channel ABS and traction control enhance safety and rider confidence.

Yamaha’s bigger play

With this update, Yamaha strengthens its premium positioning in the 150 to 160cc segment. The XSR 155 sits alongside the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 and the Yamaha MT-15 V2. All three share the same engine platform but cater to different personalities.

The XSR 155 is for riders who want performance without plastic fairings. It is for those who appreciate retro charm but still want modern tech.
