What to expect from the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift?

While Tata had introduced an updated model of the Tiago EV last year, the brand is adamant on developing a mid-life facelift of its most affordable electric car. The latest spy shots of a camouflaged test car showcase that the Tiago EV facelift will undergo substantial changes.

The front of the test mule bears the all-new twin-pod LED headlights, a new closed grille design with improved aerodynamic shape for better efficiency, new alloy wheels, and possibly a new rear design with the updated LED taillights and a redesigned bumper.

However, the partial look of the interior from the driver’s side shows that the dashboard is likely to be all-new on the facelifted car. Although not clearly visible, the digital instrument console has a pop-up-like design, and the steering wheel also looks redesigned.

Other changes to expect include the new centre console, new upholstery theme, and more advanced features. However, there is now ADAS or a 360-degree camera setup on the test car, we can safely say that there is still time for these advanced safety features to be offered on the affordable hatchbacks.

A few online reports are also suggesting that the battery packs will be revised. The Tiago EV facelift could come equipped with bigger batteries, possibly sourced from the new Punch EV facelift.

As far as the launch timeline is concerned, we expect that Tata will launch the Tiago EV facelift by the end of this year. With the new changes and bigger batteries, the prices could possibly see a little hike. However, expect the BaaS or Battery-as-a-service option to reduce the initial buying cost.
