Lexus India is set to introduce the new-gen ES sedan. The launch of the 2026 ES will take place on March 20 in India, and it will bring a substantial update to its design and interior experience. Read below on what to expect from the new-gen ES in India.

2026 Lexus ES: Everything we know so far
The ES has been a special car for luxury buyers internationally. A part of its popularity comes from the brand’s high reliability and the top-notch luxury features. The 2026 ES is now set to launch in India on March 20, and it will give the ES badge a much-needed revamp.
The first change will be its new exterior design that features a rakish profile with the new scooped bonnet and the sharp Z-shaped LED lights. The protruding front bumper is accentuated by the vertical black highlights and aero dams for improved performance.
The side profile boasts a sloping roofline and a prominent shoulder line with conventional door handles. The new alloy wheels look more prominent with their gunmetal styling and multi-spoke design. Moreover, the new-gen ES is 165 mm longer, 55 mm wider, and 110-115 mm taller than the outgoing model. The increased 80 mm wheelbase offers more rear legroom.
The rear design features a ducktail shape with the sleek connected strip LED lights and L-shaped vertical inserts in the rear bumper that extend to the boot. The boot also features an integrated spoiler for better aerodynamics.
Another major update is on the inside, where it features a completely overhauled cabin with the new dashboard, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a 14-inch infotainment screen that replaces a host of physical button controls. Additionally, HVAC controls and other physical buttons on the centre console are now touch-capacitive.
The steering wheel and the cabin now feature sustainable leather, thus replacing the old, genuine leather and wooden highlights of the previous ES model. Moreover, the ‘L’ badge on the steering wheel has been replaced by Lexus lettering.
In terms of features, the new-gen ES is loaded with Mark and Levinson sound system, an electrochromatic glass roof, ambient lights, electric front seats with memory function, a Boss Mode, reclining rear seats, and improved NVH levels inside the cabin.
Internationally, the 2026 ES is offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine and a 2.5-litre hybrid engine. The Indian market is likely to get the latter in its 247 bhp avatar. This engine offers 23.8 km/l of fuel efficiency, making it class-leading among rivals like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Online rumours hint that Lexus might also launch the electric ES in India in the future. However, it will only get confirmed on March 20, when the official launch announcement is made.
