- Tata Sierra bookings have crossed 1-lakh units with 14,000 vehicles already delivered
- Tata to ramp up production to 15,000 units per month by Q2 of 2026
- The company is working closely with suppliers and manufacturing units to increase production
The Tata Sierra nameplate has piqued interest of many given its legacy since the 90s. Within months of its launch, the Sierra has already crossed 1 lakh bookings with numbers growing everyday. Given the high demand, Tata Motors has decided to ramp up the production to reduce waiting period.
Strong demand needs more supply
As of February 2026, Tata Motors has delivered over 14,000 units of the Sierra. At present, Tata is able to churn out 7,000 to 8,000 Sierra’s every month. At this rate customers will have to wait for over a year to get delivery of their vehicles.
In order to reduce the waiting period, Tata plans to ramp up the production of the Sierra to 15,000 units per month. This should happen in Q2 of 2026. Tata is working closely with its vendors and suppliers to steadily increase the production without compromising on quality.
Sierra EV to add to the load
The Sierra.ev is just around the corner and we expect it to be launched in a couple of months. This will add to the load to the already heavy order book. However, to balance the demand, Tata will allocate 12,000 units a month purely for ICE and the rest for the Sierra.ev. That would mean that people who have already booked their vehicles will have a reduced waiting period.
Tata’s steady growth
Tata Motors posted its best ever sales numbers of 70,000 units in Feb’26. With the production ramp up, we believe that Tata will not only be able to sustain the growth, but also keep exceeding the same month on month. The new Punch and Punch.ev are also expected to contribute to the growing numbers.
