What to expect from the Volkswagen Taigun facelift?

The latest spy images of the Taigun facelift test car showcase its front and rear design updates. Since it is going to be a mid-life mild update only, the SUV will not undergo any dimensional upgrades.

As seen in the photos, the front end of the car has new, sharp LED projector headlights, which certainly look inspired by the new Tayron R-Line. Moreover, the nose gets an illuminated VW logo with a connected LED strip in the background.

The front bumper and grille are also new, while the side profile looks more or less similar to the current model, save for the new alloy wheels. At the back, it gets new LED taillights connected via an illuminated Volkswagen lettering – similar to the Skoda Kushaq facelift.

Ironically, even with the mid-life update, we do not expect the Taigun to offer ADAS safety features or even a 360-degree camera. The same were also missing on the Kushaq facelift.

On the inside, expect a new digital console and a bigger, updated, and more advanced infotainment console. Meanwhile, the upholstery is likely to be upgraded, and the seats might get memory and massage functions.

Powering the Taigun facelift will be the current 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI engine options. However, the 1.0L TSI engine is likely to get the new 8-speed torque converter gearbox.

Volkswagen is expected to launch the updated Taigun facelift by mid-2026. It will be priced in the similar ballpark as the Skoda Kushaq facelift.
