What to expect from the Volkswagen Virtus facelift?
The latest spotting of a Virtus facelift test mule shows that Volkswagen is working on its first mid-life update. The Virtus was introduced in 2022, and it has been the segment leader ever since its launch. However, an update is much required, and it looks it is on the way.
Speaking of the visible changes that we can spot here, include the new front and rear design. While the test car is covered, we can spot that it is equipped with a set of new LED lights, reworked bumpers, and a new front grille design that looks sleeker than before.
Apart from these updates, the side profile appears to be loaded with the new 17-inch alloy wheels. The test car is possibly a GT variant since it has a black roof, black mirrors, and black alloy wheels.
With these mild changes on the outside, the interior layout will also get a new infotainment console, a new digital instrument console, a reworked centre console, and advanced features like electric front seats with ventilation, massaging seats, a dual-zone AC, wireless charging pad, improved seat cushioning, and more.
Since Volkswagen has already revealed that the current platform is not compatible with the ADAS and 360-degree camera technology, the test car also do not have those, which further tells us that the Virtus facelift will also miss out on these.
Similar to its SUV sibling Taigun, the Virtus facelift will continue to be offered with the 1.0 TSI and the 1.5 TSI engine options. However, the former is likely going to feature the new 8-speed AT gearbox, which will replace the current 6-speed AT.
Speaking of its launch, we suspect that Volkswagen can reveal it sometime later this year, while an official launch could take place around early next year. Expect the price to be slightly higher than the current model.
