New Honda compact SUV: What do we know so far?
While Honda is undergoing a major financial crunch in the global market, the brand remains persistent in introducing new products in India. A recent announcement made by the company’s top official has revealed that the brand is going to launch two new products in India soon. One of these will be a sub-4 metre SUV, which will rival in the throat-cutting segment that includes Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
Although Honda is late to the party by a big margin, especially considering that the Brezza was launched in 2015, the brand is still confident that it can pull sales from the most competitive segment in India. The exact details about this car are scarce at the moment, but we can expect it to share its powertrain with the Honda Amaze.
Meanwhile, the brand also revealed that it will focus on the mid-size and the compact car segments in India in the future. The strategic shift is scheduled to take place in 2028 with the introduction of this new SUV. However, it is unclear whether this SUV will feature a hybrid engine or not.
