Maruti has announced the commencement of commercial production at its second plant in Kharkhoda. This takes the current capacity of the manufacturer to 26.5 lakh units annually.

Maruti Suzuki’s second plant in Kharkhoda becomes operational
The Kharkhoda-based production facility is going to become the biggest manufacturing facility of Maruti. The brand has announced that the second plant has now become operational in Kharkhoda, Haryana.
This takes the total toll of Maruti’s production plants to four locations: Kharkhoda, Gurugram, Manesar, and Gujarat. With the second plant now operational, Maruti will be initially manufacturing the Brezza and Victoris models here.
Meanwhile, the two plants in Kharkhoda will now add 5 lakh units annually to the brand’s annual production number. With that said, Maruti aims to take this production number to 10 lakh annual units at Kharkhoda itself.
Additionally, the current annual production of Maruti in India will stand at 26.50 lakh units, including the domestic and export cars. The brand is also working on new models, including the Brezza facelift, Baleno facelift, and an electric MPV that is internally codenamed YMC.
