Key highlights
- Tata Sierra EV to get a 65 kWh battery pack
- It will also get the all-wheel drive option
- India launch on June 30
Tata’s upcoming Sierra EV will soon be launched in India. Just days ahead of its debut, an online report has revealed that its base version will come equipped with a 65 kWh battery pack.
The Sierra EV will be based on the acti.ev+ platform, and it will share its underpinnings with the Harrier EV. Mind you, the latter is offered with a 65 kWh and a 75 kWh battery pack, hence it is quite understandable that the Sierra EV will also follow the same variant-battery segregation strategy as the Harrier EV.
Tata’s earlier teaser trailer has revealed the QWD badge, which certifies that it will also get the all-wheel drive option. We suspect that the QWD will be offered only on the range-topping version, which is suspected to get powered by the 75 kWh battery option similar to the Harrier EV.
Tata has already revealed the exterior design of the electric Sierra, which boasts a new front fascia with a revised bumper, a closed grille, and reworked LED headlights. The overall profile of the electric Sierra will be similar to the Sierra ICE version. Similarly, its interior layout and the feature options will be shared with the Sierra ICE.
Tata will position the Sierra EV between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. Therefore, it could be launched in the range of Rs 18-25 lakh. The official debut is set for June 30, and you can read all the latest updates about the Sierra EV at shifting-gears.
