Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift reaches dealers, interior revealed

Key highlights

  • Top-spec Z8L facelift spotted at a dealership
  • Gets a bigger touchscreen, digital cluster and ADAS
  • 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines to continue

The Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift has started reaching dealerships, giving us a much clearer look at what Mahindra has changed on its popular SUV. The top-spec Z8L variant has been spotted at a dealer yard ahead of its launch in India.

What to expect?

Mahindra has not gone overboard with the facelift. The changes are mostly about adding more features and giving the Scorpio-N a mild visual refresh.

Up front, the SUV gets a revised grille with chrome inserts. The door handles also get chrome treatment, while the Z8L shown here rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 255/65 R18 Apollo Apterra HT2 tyres.

The Z8L now gets a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital instrument cluster. The feature list also includes a panoramic sunroof, 540-degree camera, wireless charging, ventilated front seats and an auto-dimming IRVM. Mahindra has also fitted a 12-speaker Sony sound system, while the facelift gets ADAS as well.

There will be another Z8 Connect variant positioned below the Z8L. It will miss out on some of the more premium equipment, including the 360-degree camera and ADAS. It will also get a single-pane sunroof and manual day/night IRVM.

Same engines, same gearbox options

The Scorpio-N facelift isn’t getting a mechanical overhaul. Mahindra will continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will continue, while four-wheel drive will remain available on select variants.

The Scorpio-N’s engines and rugged ladder-frame platform have already proven themselves, so Mahindra has focused its attention on the areas where the SUV was beginning to show its age.

With dealer stock already appearing, the Scorpio-N facelift’s launch is expected on August 15.
