Greaves Electric Mobility has launched the updated Ampere Magnus G Max electric family scooter in India. The latest update brings with it new software and a host of features. Called NxG.io software, the new software adds more than 30 smart connected features to the scooter, placing it firmly against rivals like the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
2026 Ampere Magnus G Max: What is new?
The biggest update on the new Magnus G Max is the addition of a new 5-inch coloured TFT screen. This display not only features an engaging user interface, but it also packs a long list of smart features.
To begin with, the biggest feature upgrade is the new cruise control system. This feature will be helpful to buyers who often commute long distance through open roads. Another addition is the hill-hold assist feature that prevents the scooter from rolling back or forward, depending on the slope of the hill.
The new 5-inch display features Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. Moreover, it now gets a turn-by-turn navigation feature, which will be helpful for riders to navigate through unknown areas easily without having to look at the phone’s navigation. Customers will also be able to ping the scooter and locate it in a busy parking area easily through a new smartphone application.
The new app also includes smart features like battery charging status, live scooter tracking, geofencing, theft or tow alerts, remote diagnostics, OTA updates, service history, charging history, and more. All these features can be accessed through the new Ampere Smart App.
This new update is restricted to the software upgrade only, and the scooter retains its mechanical setup. It is powered by a 3 kWh LFP battery pack with a 2.4 kW hub-mounted electric motor, offering an IDC-claimed range of 142 km and a top speed of 65 km/h.
Ampere also offers a standard warranty of 5 years or 75,000 km, while the battery is rated to have a lifespan of 2 lakh kilometres. Customers can opt for several dual-tone colours, including the latest Cinnamon Copper shade.
