- 85th Anniversary edition limited to just 85 units in India

- Adds digital IRVM, front and rear dashcam and illuminated sunroof
Jeep has marked its 85th anniversary with a special version of the Compass. Called the Compass 85th Anniversary Edition, the limited-run SUV will be sold in just 85 units across India.
Prices for the Compass 85th Anniversary range start at Rs 26.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can book the special edition through Jeep dealerships across the country or via the Jeep India website.
Black, gold and plenty of exclusivity
The anniversary treatment is mostly about making the Compass look and feel different from the regular SUV. It gets Gloss Black 18-inch alloy wheels, along with bespoke anniversary-themed exterior details and commemorative elements.
The cabin follows a similar theme. Jeep has given it an all-black interior with Mayan Gold accents, contrast detailing and special anniversary touches. It is a fairly restrained approach to a special edition, which actually suits the Compass. There are no loud graphics or questionable stickers trying to shout “LIMITED EDITION” from every panel.
More than just cosmetic changes
Jeep has also bundled some additional technology with its 85th Anniversary AXS Personalization Packages. These include ambient lighting, SkyLounge/sunroof illumination and a Digital IRVM with front and rear dashcams. The packages also offer other personalisation elements developed specifically for the anniversary edition.
The dashcam setup is arguably the more useful addition here. Unlike some special-edition features that exist mainly to make a brochure look longer, a built-in camera can actually be handy during everyday driving.
Same Compass, more special
Jeep has not announced any mechanical changes with the 85th Anniversary Edition. The focus is instead on adding exclusivity and equipment to the existing Compass package.
The company continues to position the Compass as a premium SUV that combines off-road capability with everyday usability, something that has helped it establish a following in India over the years.
