Key highlights
- The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 gets three new global colour combinations, including a striking Pearl Blizzard White and Plasma Lime Green finish.
- There are no major mechanical changes for the 2027 model year.
- Kawasaki India has not confirmed the new colours yet, but an India update appears possible.
The Kawasaki Z900 has never really been a motorcycle that needed help in the styling department. Its aggressive Sugomi design has been one of its strongest selling points since the motorcycle arrived. Yet Kawasaki has managed to make it look fresh again for 2027, simply by changing the paint.
All colours
The new Z900 will be offered globally in three colour combinations: Ebony with Metallic Carbon Gray, Candy Persimmon Red with Metallic Carbon Gray, and Pearl Blizzard White with Plasma Lime Green and Ebony. Of these, the white and lime combination is easily the most interesting.
Kawasaki’s signature green is usually paired with black or dark grey. Putting it against a predominantly white motorcycle gives the Z900 a considerably fresher appearance. It also makes the sharp tank extensions, exposed frame and compact tail section stand out even more.
No changes to the powertrain
And thankfully, Kawasaki has not tried to fix something that wasn’t broken. There are no major mechanical changes for 2027. The motorcycle continues with its 948 cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, producing 122 bhp and 98.6 Nm. It also retains a bi-directional quickshifter, electronic cruise control, selectable power modes, three-mode traction control and an IMU-supported electronic rider-assistance package.
The Z900 was substantially updated for the 2025 model year, receiving features such as ride-by-wire, cruise control, a bi-directional quickshifter, IMU-assisted traction control and cornering ABS. The 2026 model subsequently received a small bump in power and torque and a 1kg weight reduction.
For India, however, there is one important caveat. Kawasaki India has not announced the 2027 Z900 or confirmed these colours yet. The current motorcycle is available in two colour options in India, including Candy Lime Green with Metallic Carbon Gray.
