Jeep India has unveiled the Wrangler Whitecap Mojito Limited Edition, a special version of the Wrangler Rubicon that brings a distinctive colour combination and a handful of additional features. The limited edition is expected to launch in India soon and will command a premium over the standard Rubicon, which is currently priced at Rs 70.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Distinctive styling
The biggest visual change is the exclusive Mojito bright-green paint, paired with a white roof. The front grille surround is also finished in white, giving the SUV a contrasting two-tone appearance.
The special edition further gets 1941 decals on the sides, body-coloured fenders and a white ‘4 Wheel Drive’ sticker on the tailgate. The 1941 reference marks the year the original Willys MB Jeep was introduced.
Inside, the Whitecap Mojito gets a built-in dashcam and reinforced grab handles. Most of the cabin equipment remains identical to the Rubicon, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12-way powered front seats, ADAS, six airbags, dual-zone climate control and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system with a subwoofer.
Same powertrain
There are no mechanical changes for the special edition. It continues with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, producing 272 hp and 400 Nm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels through the Wrangler’s standard 4×4 system.
Jeep has not yet announced the price, number of units or exact launch date for the Whitecap Mojito Limited Edition in India. Considering the standard Rubicon’s Rs 70.80 lakh price tag, the special edition is expected to sit slightly higher.
Final thoughts
The Whitecap Mojito is essentially a cosmetic special edition rather than a mechanical upgrade. But the combination of bright green paint, a white roof and heritage-inspired detailing gives the Wrangler a look that is difficult to confuse with the standard SUV.
