Honda Elevate facelift launched at Rs 11.80 lakh with more features and a sharper look

Key highlights

  • Honda Elevate facelift starts at Rs 11.80 lakh, with prices going up to Rs 16.50 lakh
  • New styling, 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and upgraded cabin headline the changes
  • The 1.5-litre petrol engine and manual/CVT gearbox options continue unchanged

Honda has launched the facelifted Elevate in India, giving its midsize SUV a significant equipment and styling update without altering the underlying powertrain. India is the first market globally to receive the updated Elevate.

The facelift comes at a time when rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Tata Sierra have raised the bar for features in this segment.

A sharper look

The Elevate gets a redesigned front grille with a honeycomb pattern and a revised lighting signature. The Honda badge has moved from the grille to the bonnet, while segmented LED DRLs connect visually with the headlamp units. At the rear, the LED tail-lamps now feature a connected treatment. The overall upright proportions and 17-inch wheel setup remain familiar.

The cabin receives a more substantial makeover. Honda has added softer leatherette padding, revised upholstery and ambient lighting across the dashboard and door panels. The equipment list has also been expanded, addressing some of the features the outgoing Elevate lacked.

More features, including a 360-degree camera

The facelift brings factory-fitted ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera, two features that were previously available through dealer-level accessories. The SUV also gets an updated infotainment setup, while Honda’s Level 2 ADAS package continues.

Other additions include improved cabin convenience and comfort equipment, making the Elevate more competitive against newer rivals.

Same powertrain

Under the bonnet, the Elevate continues with Honda’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 121 hp and 145 Nm. It is paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-step CVT, with power sent to the front wheels. There is no strong-hybrid option with the facelift.

Final thoughts

At Rs 11.80 lakh, the updated Elevate retains its relatively accessible entry point while adding features that buyers increasingly expect from a midsize SUV. More importantly, Honda has resisted the temptation to complicate the mechanical package. However, we feel this is a missed opportunity and Honda should have brought the hybrid powertrain.

The result is essentially the familiar Elevate, but with fewer glaring gaps in its equipment list.
