Key highlights

  • Triumph Trident 800 reaches select dealerships
  • Priced from Rs 10.95-11.10 lakh (ex-showroom)
  • Only a limited number of units will be available for sale

Triumph Motorcycles has silently introduced a handful of units of the Trident 800 naked sportsbike in India. Online reports confirm that a limited stock of the Trident 800, which was launched last year in the global market, has been made available to select dealerships.

While the brand has not released any official details yet, the bike has been spotted at dealerships in Maharashtra. Additionally, the reporting sources reveal that the Trident 800 is available from a starting price of Rs 10.95 lakh (ex-showroom), while reaching up to Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the colour options.

Based on the Tiger Sport 800

Mind you, the Trident 800 made its global debut last year. It is based on the Tiger Sport 800 and uses the same 798cc inline-three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 115 bhp and 84 Nm of power and torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and gets a bidirectional quickshifter and a slipper-assist clutch.

The hardware includes a steel perimeter frame, Showa 41 mm USD front forks, a rear monoshock with preload adjustment, a three-in-one exhaust system, 17-inch lightweight alloy wheels, and a six-axis IMU with features like lean-sensitive ABS, cruise control, etc. The Trident also gets a complete LED lighting setup, a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, SMS/call alerts, music controls, three riding modes (Road, Sport, Rain), and more.

Triumph is offering three colour options for the Trident 800: Jet Black, Ash Grey, and Carnival Red. The Jet Black is priced at Rs 10.95 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Ash Grey and Carnival Red are priced at Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

More expensive than the Street Triple R

With that said, the Trident 800 is a mere Rs 10,000 more expensive than the Street Triple R. The latter offers more features and a lightweight chassis with more agile performance. While the dealerships are undertaking the pre-bookings, we expect an official announcement to be released soon.
