Revised styling and new features
The facelift brings a larger front grille with satin-finished trim, redesigned LED fog lamps and a repositioned Toyota logo. The headlamps remain unchanged, while the side and rear designs largely carry over. The hatchback also gets a shark-fin antenna and two new colour options: Digital Teal Green and Bluish Black.
Inside, the dashboard layout remains familiar, but Toyota has added leatherette seat upholstery, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with cooling and a Clarion audio system with four speakers and two tweeters.
The existing 9-inch touchscreen, head-up display, automatic climate control and rear AC vents continue. Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold control and ISOFIX child-seat anchors. The updated model also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
New three-cylinder engine
The Glanza replaces its earlier four-cylinder petrol engine with the Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit. In petrol form, it produces 83 hp and 112 Nm, paired with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT.
Although peak output is lower than before, Toyota claims improved fuel efficiency. The manual returns 23.80 kmpl, while the AMT is rated at 24.77 kmpl.
A factory-fitted CNG option is also available. It produces 70 hp and 102 Nm, with manual and AMT gearbox options. Claimed efficiency stands at 33.61 km/kg for the manual and 34.47 km/kg for the AMT.
The Glanza continues to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. The Baleno remains the closest alternative, sharing its underlying platform and powertrain.
