Italian two-wheeler manufacturer Italjet is preparing to enter the Indian market through Motohaus India, adding another international brand to the distributor’s portfolio. The companies are expected to reveal details of the India lineup, pricing and launch plans at EICMA 2026, scheduled to take place in Milan next month.
Italjet is headquartered in Bologna, Italy, and is known for scooters that take a different approach to design and engineering. Its arrival could bring a distinctive alternative to India’s premium scooter market, although the products and positioning planned for the country are yet to be confirmed.
Italjet Dragster range likely to be the focus
Italjet’s global portfolio includes the Dragster family, with models ranging from the 125cc Dragster 125 to the larger Dragster 700. The range stands out for its exposed trellis frame and unconventional styling.
The smaller-capacity Dragster 125 and Dragster 300 are among the models that could make sense for India, but Motohaus has not confirmed which scooters will be introduced here. The Dragster range also features Italjet’s Independent Steering System (ISS), a distinctive front suspension and steering arrangement designed to separate steering functions from conventional fork movement. The company uses this engineering approach to give its scooters a recognisable identity.
At the other end of the range, the Dragster 700 uses a 698cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine producing 69hp and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. It is substantially different from a conventional automatic scooter and illustrates the breadth of Italjet’s international portfolio.
Motohaus expands its international portfolio
Motohaus India already distributes Brixton Motorcycles and VLF scooters in the country. The addition of Italjet will expand its presence across the two-wheeler market.
However, key details remain unannounced. Prices, dealership availability, localisation plans and the models that will be sold in India are all expected to become clearer at EICMA 2026.
