- Tesla announces new Switch and Save Carnival
- Model Y available for Rs 19,990/monthly EMI with a Rs 6 lakh down payment
- Offer available from October 23 to October 25, 2026
Tesla is on a revival mission in India. With a huge price cut for the Model Y L a few months ago, the US-based EV maker has returned to the EV race with good sales figures. However, the brand is not stopping yet. Tesla has now announced a “Switch and Save Carnival” in India, which offers low-cost ownership for new buyers of the Model Y.
This new Switch and Save Carnival is being run from October 23 to 25, 2026, across all Tesla Experience Centres in India. The locations include Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The timings for the carnival event are 11 AM to 8 PM.
Most importantly, what does this carnival offer? As per the official announcement, customers can purchase a new Model Y EV via an exclusive EMI option of Rs 19,990/month. This scheme can be availed after paying Rs 6 lakh as a down payment.
Moreover, if you purchase the Model Y during this carnival, you can avail free perks like a complimentary wall charger, on-the-spot exchange of your old vehicle, and on-site financing.
How is this EMI calculated?
It is important to note that the Model Y is priced at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom). After paying Rs 6 lakh as a down payment, the regular EMI for a 7-year tenure, if calculated as per 8.5 percent interest rate (subject to financer approval), is Rs 39,990 monthly.
However, Tesla claims that Rs 20,000 can be saved with its Model Y in fuel costs and maintenance costs, which brings down the “effective monthly EMI” to as low as Rs 19,990. Tesla has calculated this saving against a petrol or diesel SUV of a similar cost. The calculation of fuel saving is based on the assumption that the Model Y will offer 14.3kWh/100km, and that the electricity charge is Rs 7/kWh.
