Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Victoris Aurum Edition to mark one year of the SUV in India. The special edition builds on the Strong Hybrid variant and adds a range of cosmetic enhancements, including copper-coloured inserts, chrome accessories and additional cabin protection.
Priced at Rs 22,990, the Aurum Edition is an accessory package rather than a new powertrain or mechanical variant. The SUV retains its Strong Hybrid setup, including the ability to drive in EV mode.
What’s new?
The Aurum Edition gets copper-coloured inserts on the front, side and rear skid plate designs, along with detailing around the wheel arches. Maruti Suzuki has also added chrome accessories for the front grille, fenders, bumpers, body-side mouldings and door visors.
Other additions include all-weather 3D cabin mats, a 3D boot mat and a rear trunk sill guard. These changes are intended to distinguish the special edition visually while adding some practical protection for everyday use.
The Aurum name comes from the Latin word for gold, referencing the Victoris’ first-year sales performance. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been brought on board as the face of the special edition.
Victoris records strong first-year sales
Maruti Suzuki says the Victoris has recorded the highest sales for a new model during its first year in the passenger vehicle category. The company also claims it became the fastest-selling passenger vehicle in India to cross the one-lakh and 1.5-lakh sales milestones since launch.
Hyundai will launch its Bayon SUV on 26th October. The Bayon will be a key competitor to the Victoris. Maruti Suzuki has chosen the perfect time to get a new variant for the Victoris.
