Key highlights

  • Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition revealed
  • Pays tribute to the Phillip Island racing circuit
  • To be produced in limited numbers for the global market

When it comes to Aprilia’s motorsports history, the Phillip Island circuit in Australia is one of the most important circuits for the brand. With last year’s MotoGP victory at the circuit, Aprilia has achieved 300 wins in the World Motorcycle Championship.

However, Phillip Island will no longer be part of the racing world after 2026. MotoGP will depart from Phillip Island to the new Adelaide Street Circuit from 2027. Meanwhile, to pay tribute to this iconic circuit, where Aprilia won 10 MotoGP victories, the new RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute Edition bike has been revealed.

Since this motorcycle pays tribute to this iconic circuit and Aprilia’s history associated with this circuit, there are a lot of visual changes to offer. The special edition model is draped in a white paint shade, featuring a beautiful mix of green and red accents on the side fairing, tail section, and the front apron.

Moreover, the belly guard features Aprilia lettering with red highlights, while the alloy wheels have been painted in the same red colour. The side fairing also receives “Phillip Island Circuit” lettering, along with the chequered flag and partial circuit map.

The fuel tank also receives a badge that celebrates Aprilia’s victories at the Phillip Island Circuit. The handlebar gets a numbered plate, displaying the individual unit of this limited-run special edition bike.

Since this special edition only gets the visual updates, it uses the same 660cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine as the standard model. This unit offers 105 bhp and 70 Nm, while being paired with a 6-speed gearbox and offering a slip-assist clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter.

The bike also gets advanced electronics like a coloured TFT screen, Bluetooth connectivity, ride and traction modes, cruise control, a dual-channel ABS, and more.

Aprilia has not revealed the crucial details like which markets will get it, what its price will be, and how many of these will be made.
