BYD India has announced that the Sealion 7 has crossed the 5,000-delivery milestone in the country. Launched in February 2025, the electric SUV has become one of the company’s key offerings in the premium EV segment.
The milestone comes as BYD expands the Sealion 7 range with additional variants, giving buyers more options across different price points. The lineup now includes the Dynamic, Premium and Performance versions, along with the limited-run Festive Edition.
BYD Sealion 7: Battery, range and performance
The Premium variant gets an 82.56 kWh Blade Battery pack, with a claimed NEDC range of 567 km. The Performance version uses a dual-motor setup that produces 390 kW (530 hp) and 690 Nm of torque. BYD claims a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds.
Both versions get a panoramic glass roof and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen. The SUV also uses BYD’s Cell-to-Body architecture, which integrates the battery into the vehicle structure.
New Dynamic and Festive Edition variants
BYD introduced the Sealion 7 Dynamic in August 2026 at an introductory price of Rs 41.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It uses a 71.8 kWh Blade Battery and has a claimed NEDC range of 520km. Despite being the entry point to the range, it retains the panoramic glass roof and rotating touchscreen.
The limited-run Sealion 7 Festive Edition arrived in October 2026, priced at Rs 50.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the Premium variant, it gets a Tan and Black interior, quilted Nappa leather seats, an electric sunshade for the panoramic glass roof and a head-up display. Production is restricted to 150 units.
BYD India expands its presence
According to the company, BYD India has served more than 15,000 customers and operates 49 showrooms across 40 cities. The company entered India in 2007, initially focusing on electric buses and commercial mobility before expanding into passenger electric vehicles.
