For 2027, Ducati is giving its V4-powered Diavel a more focused update, and the big news is the return of the S badge.
The new Diavel V4 S brings electronically controlled Ohlins suspension to the range for the first time in the V4 era. It also gets sharper styling, updated electronics and a much more extensive personalisation programme. The standard Diavel V4 is being updated alongside it, retaining the same engine and core mechanical package.
What’s new?
The biggest upgrade is the suspension setup. The Diavel V4 S gets Öhlins SmartEC-3 semi-active suspension, which adjusts damping in real time depending on riding conditions and inputs. This is a significant addition for a motorcycle that combines substantial performance with everyday road usability.
The S version also gets a lithium-ion battery, heated grips and dedicated alloy wheel finishes. The standard Diavel V4, meanwhile, continues with its conventional suspension setup.
Visually, both versions get a handful of changes inspired by the Diavel V4 RS. These include redesigned air intakes, a revised single-piece tail section and new five-spoke alloy wheels. Ducati has also tweaked the silencer cover and other bodywork details to give the motorcycle a sharper appearance without messing with its unmistakable proportions.
Powertrain
Power continues to come from the familiar 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine. It produces 168 hp at 10,750 rpm and 126 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine retains its counter-rotating crankshaft and Twin Pulse firing order. The six-speed gearbox now gets Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, which promises quicker and more precise gear changes.
The braking package remains suitably serious, with twin 330mm front discs and Brembo Stylema callipers, supported by Cornering ABS. A 265mm disc handles braking duties at the rear. The motorcycle rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.
Other features
Another notable upgrade is the new 6.9-inch colour TFT display with optical bonding technology. It gets a revised interface inspired by the Panigale V4, along with a dedicated Road Info mode and updated handlebar controls. Turn-by-turn navigation is now standard, while smartphone connectivity and a 20W USB-C charging port add to everyday convenience.
Ducati is also introducing its Factory Made (DFM) personalisation programme to the Diavel range for the first time. Buyers can choose from exclusive paint schemes, wheels, brake callipers, seats and accessory packages. The Diavel V4 S gets access to an even wider selection, including colours from Automobili Lamborghini’s Ad Personam programme.
